Lake Grundlsee: Fish and Fishing

The freshwater lake with its drinking water quality is full of numerous species. Among those: pike, brown trout, rainbow trout, char, European chub, eel-pout, perch, minnow and numerous white fish. The Grundlsee lake is an extremely popular fishing ground. Fishing licenses are available at the Tourism Office of Lake Grundlsee and also at the Tourism Office of Lake Altaussee and other valid fishing license offices.

An particularly impressive hiking tour leads from Lake Altaussee to the Trisselwand. On the right-hand side you will see Lake Grundlsee and on your left Lake Altaussee. During the winter you can cross-country ski from Altaussee to Lake Grundlsee and take the public bus back to the Seevilla.
