Lake Oedensee – natural lake in the Salzkammergut Region
In the municipality of Pichl-Kainisch near your holiday resort of Altaussee lies the picturesque natural moor lake: Lake Oedensee.
Located at 776 metres above sea level, surrounded by a romantic forest landscape lies Lake Oedensee. At only 19 metres deep, the lake is under conservation. It has its source exclusively in underground streams and exits into the Traun River in Bad Aussee.

At 20 hectare, the Oedensee Lake is amongst the smaller Salzkammergut lakes and is an insider tip. The fresh melt water from the mountains keeps Lake Oedensee cool even during the hot summer months. This also contributes to the diverse fish population of the lake.
