Loser im Sommer - Wanderung zum Loser Fenster
Wandern in Aussee

The best route would be to drive up to the Loser Alpine chalet located at 1.498 metres above sea level. From here you can start your round hike at the Loser Plateau, where you can visit several natural attractions.

From the Loser Alpine Chalet to the Loser Mountain “Window”

Your path will lead you from the Loser Alpine chalet via the Hochanger to the Loser “Window”, an opening in the rock face, through which you can look down at the Salzkammergut from a bird’s perspective. Continue onwards to the Augstsee lake, a shimmering small mountain lake, full of fish and rare plants. Surprising might be the fact that this mountain lake, which is covered with ice five months during the year, is suitable for diving!

From the Augstsee lake you will continue onwards to the Loser mountain restaurant and further to your car at the Loser Alpine Chalet. Do plan approximately three hours for this easy but varied alpine hiking tour. Treat yourself with a Styrian “Brotzeit” meal before returning back home.
